# Custom objects

Custom objects allow us to save our contents in neatly organized collections so that we can pull them out and use them later. This is quite similar to copy/paste, however, we can save as many objects as we want and they are also saved between app sessions.

We can also share our objects as `.pxpc` files.

Custom object collections are saved in `portable_contents` folder within [Pixquare's folder in Files](/gallery/manage-files-via-the-files-app.md).

1. Collection selection
2. Add the selected object to the current layer
3. Available objects
4. Add object. We need an [active selection](/tools/selection.md#what-is-selection) for this to work.

We can also long press on an object and then drag it to the canvas to add.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.pixquare.art/tools/additional-tools/custom-objects.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
