# Symmetry

Symmetry is both beautiful and time-saving. It was one of the most requested features in Pixquare's beta phase.

Most software offers mirroring with 4 symmetry lines: 1 vertical, 1 horizontal, and 2 diagonals. Pixquare goes 1 step further and offers as many groups (not lines, read further down this page to learn more) as your heart desires.

### Flip the switch

Symmetry tool is disabled by default, so we'll need to enable it first.

To enable the symmetry tool, go to Settings > Features > Symmetry tool

### What's a symmetry group?

Instead of working with individual symmetry lines, Pixquare works with multiple lines crossing at a shared center. It'll divide the canvas into smaller fragments and then do the symmetry magic in each fragment. Each cluster like that is a group.

In Pixquare, we can add as many group as we want

1. Position and rotation drag knob - drag these to adjust the position and angle of the lines. Only the selected line in the panel has these
2. On/off toggle - Symmetry lines can be temporarily turned on/off
3. Current position of the line
4. Line color - tap on this box to change the line's color
5. Number of lines/fragements
6. Symmetry mode: mirror or rotate
7. Reset the position to center and angle to 0
8. Add new line and remove the selected line
